Common Questions

The closest train station and tram stop is Altrincham and Hale. They are both under 10 mins drive away. We have contacted local taxi firms to inform them about the event and the increase of demand.

The event will feature a 5K run and drinks are provided as part of the package. There will be a selection of beer and water at each drink station. We have a variety of obstacles throughout the run to add an extra element of fun and challenge for all participants.

Yes, parking facilities will be available on site for free.

There are toilet facilities available in the clubhouse and changing rooms. We highly recommend going before the race, however at roughly the 2.5K mark you’ll have a chance to dart in to the rugby club as it is the start of the circuit that you will do two laps of.

Bowdon Rugby Club will be providing food which consists a selection of hot and cold food. 

The sports event will be held on 7th Oct at Bowdon Rugby Club. Your start time will vary depending on your allocated time slot. Please see above for possible time slots.

Due to the consumption of alcohol, participants have to be over the age of 18. ID will be checked when registering to compare your DOB with your booking confirmation.Spectators of all ages are welcome.

Yes, the rugby club offers multiple changing rooms with toilets, changing and showers available.

There will be a bagging area to leave any baggage and clothing. However activity inside this area will not be supervised so your personal belongings are left at your own risk. We recommend any valuables are left in your car or with spectators.

We don’t expect this as the race is designed to minimise accidents. However, a first aid team are on standby in the unlikely event of any injuries. We have marshals through the event with high-vis coats and will communicate and manage any situation promptly. There is access to all areas of the course in the event of an emergency.

Yes, spectators are all more than welcome to watch at the start and finish of the event. If free of charge. The clubhouse will be open for food and beverages. We kindly ask all spectators to be respectful and stay in the designated area for heath and safety reasons.

There will be accessibility in our spectator area for wheelchairs. Participants have to complete a waiver explaining the dangers of the course. Please contact us in advance if you require any special assistance for taking part before booking.

If you have lost your confirmation e-mail, please contact the organsiers before the event to help speed up the registration process on the day.

We will aim to move your booking on to a better time. If that isn’t possible then we will look to transfer your booking to our next event(s) in 2024.

Spectators are allowed dogs on a lead and guide dogs or service animals. It is recommended to contact the event organisers for further guidance.

Waiver form

Waiver form for running and drinking beer event:

By placing this order I hereby acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions set forth in this waiver form in consideration for my participation in the Running and Drinking Beer Event “5K Beer Challenge”.

Assumption of Risk:

I understand that participating in the Event involves running or jogging, consuming alcoholic beverages, and potential risks associated with physical activity and alcohol consumption. I acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating in this Event and I assume all risks and hazards associated with it, including but not limited to:

Risk of physical injury, including but not limited to sprains, strains, fractures, and collisions with objects or other participants.

Risk of alcohol-related health issues or impairment, including intoxication, impaired judgment, and increased risk of accidents.

Risk of slips, trips, falls, or other accidents due to the consumption of alcohol.

Other risks associated with the Event.

Alcohol Consumption:

I understand that consuming alcoholic beverages during the Event is entirely voluntary, and I have the option to refrain from alcohol consumption. I acknowledge that alcohol consumption can impair my judgment, coordination, and reaction time, and I agree to drink responsibly and not to consume alcohol excessively during the Event.

I represent that I am physically and mentally fit to participate in the Event. I understand that it is my responsibility to consult with a healthcare professional regarding my fitness to participate, especially considering any pre-existing medical conditions, injuries, or other limitations that may affect my ability to safely participate in physical activities or consume alcoholic beverages.

Release and Waiver:

In consideration for being permitted to participate in the Event, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the organizers, sponsors, volunteers, and other affiliated individuals or entities involved in the Event (collectively referred to as “the Released Parties”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me or to any property belonging to me, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise, while participating in the Event or while traveling to or from the Event.

Indemnification:

I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses, including reasonable attorney fees and court costs, arising out of or related to my participation in the Event or any violation of this waiver form.

Use of Likeness:

I grant the organizers of the Event the right to use photographs, videos, or other media capturing my likeness during the Event for promotional and marketing purposes without compensation or further consent.

Severability:

If any provision of this waiver form is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Individuals with specific medical conditions: People with certain medical conditions or compromised immune systems may be advised or required to avoid large gatherings, including sporting events. This could include individuals with respiratory conditions, chronic illnesses, or immunodeficiencies.

Pregnant women: Pregnant women may be advised to avoid crowded places, including sporting events, due to potential risks to their health and the health of their unborn child. This recommendation is often made to minimize exposure to infectious diseases or physical hazards.

Elderly individuals: Older adults, particularly those with underlying health conditions, may be more susceptible to severe illness or complications. As a precautionary measure, they may be advised to refrain from attending sporting events where there is a higher likelihood of close contact with others.

Individuals with disabilities: People with certain disabilities may have specific health considerations or vulnerabilities that make attending sporting events challenging or risky. Accessibility concerns, physical limitations, or sensory sensitivities could be factors in their exemption.

Individuals recovering from illness or surgery: Those who are recovering from recent illnesses or surgical procedures may need additional time to regain their strength and immunity. Attending crowded sporting events could pose a risk to their recovery or increase their susceptibility to infections.

Individuals with contagious illnesses: People with contagious illnesses, such as influenza or a viral infection, are generally advised to avoid public gatherings, including sporting events, to prevent the spread of the disease to others.

Terms and Conditions for Legless 5K Beer Challenge

These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in the sporting event ‘5K Beer Challenge’ organized by Legless 5K Beer Challenge. By registering or participating in the Event, you agree to comply with these terms. Please read this Agreement carefully before participating in the Event. If you do not agree with any part of this Agreement, you may not participate in the Event.

Registration and Eligibility:

  1. Participants must meet the eligibility criteria specified by the Event Organiser.
  2. Participants must provide accurate and complete information during the registration process.
  3. The Event Organizer reserves the right to reject any registration at its sole discretion.

 

Safety:

  1. Participants must follow all safety guidelines, rules, and regulations set forth by the Event Organiser.
  2. Participants must act responsibly and take reasonable precautions to avoid injury to themselves and others.

 

Code of Conduct:

  1. Participants must conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner.
  2. Participants must not engage in any form of harassment, discrimination, or violence.
  3. Participants must follow the instructions and decisions of the Event Organizer and officials.

 

Liability:

  1. Participants acknowledge that participating in the Event involves certain inherent risks and accept full responsibility for their own safety.
  2. Participants release the Event Organizer, its officers, employees, and affiliates from any liability for injuries, damages, or losses incurred during the Event.

 

Photography and Media:

  1. Participants consent to the use of their name, likeness, photographs, and videos captured during the Event for promotional purposes by the Event Organiser.
  2. Participants may not use any unauthorized photography or recording devices during the Event without prior permission.

 

Changes and Cancellations:

  1. The Event Organiser reserves the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel the Event for any reason.
  2. In the event of cancellation, the Event Organiser reserves the right to offer alternative arrangements at its discretion.

 

Intellectual Property:

  1. All intellectual property rights associated with the Event, including logos, trademarks, and copyrights, belong to the Event Organiser.
  2. Participants may not use or reproduce any Event-related intellectual property without prior written permission from the Event Organizer.

 

Governing Law:

  1. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England.
  2.  Any disputes arising from or relating to this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in England.

 

Severability:

  • a. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

 

Entire Agreement:

  • This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the participants and the Event Organiser, superseding any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the Event.

 

The refund policy:

  • Event Cancellation: If the sporting event is canceled for any reason, such as inclement weather, facility issues, or unforeseen circumstances, the event organiser typically offers refunds or an opportunity to attend the postponed event to ticket holders. 
  • Postponement: In the case of event postponement, where the event is rescheduled for a later date, tickets are usually honored for the new date. However, if you are unable to attend the rescheduled event, we will provide refund options. Again, the specific refund policy would be communicated by the us or ticketing platform.
  • Ticket Exchange or Resale: Some event organizers or ticketing platforms offer ticket exchange or resale options, allowing ticket holders to transfer or sell their tickets to others if they are unable to attend the event. This can be an alternative to obtaining a refund, depending on the terms and conditions.
  • No-Refund Policy: It’s important to note that some sporting events may have a strict no-refund policy, particularly for non-cancellable events or certain ticket categories. In such cases, refunds may not be provided under normal circumstances, even if you are unable to attend the event.
